A new sculpture by artist Eva Rothschild is the latest specially commissioned art work to be exhibited in Tate Britian's Duveen Galleries. The Dublin-born, London-based artist follows in the footsteps of Turner Prize winners Martin Creed (who had people running up and down the gallery), and Mark Wallinger (who recreated Brian Haw's Parliament Square protest). Rothschild is the sixth artist to be chosen for the high-profile commission and although details of the work remain sketchy, we do know that it will be a single piece stretching the full length of the gallery - over 70 metres long. When Rothschild's works were last shown in London at a solo exhibition at the South London Gallery in 2007, leather, wood and Perspex were sculpted into geometric shapes and twisted on top of four legged pedestals. We look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.
